The Mark of the Beast

666: the Mark of the Beast. Wait, no. That’s not right. It should read “The name of the beast which adds up to 666 in an ancient numerical system and mark that this beast persuades you to take.” That’s better. Ok. The Mark of the Beast often comes up in conversation lately. So the common belief is that it will be associated with the number 666, or the Hebrew WWW, and that we will be fooled into taking it as a credit card or vaccine with RFID or similar computer chips in them, all into our right hand or forehead, right?

Absolutely wrong. First of all, 666 is a reference to the name of the beast in a numerology system called Gematria, not having the actual number tattooed to your forehead. This is likely a reference to a totalitarian dictator named Nero, who’s name is 666 and oppressed Christians around the time that the Book of Revelation was written buy a guy in a roman Prison. He had to encode the data somehow. This is not saying that Nero will rise again, but that his archetype or personality will appear again in other people, and you should watch out for them.

Secondly, No you will not be tricked into taking the mark of the beast, it’s hot hidden anywhere. It is something that you will choose, while knowing it’s a full rejection of Christ. To take a mark on your forehead means that you have been fooled into believing in something. Everyone can see it clearly on your forehead, but because of your limited perspective you simply can’t see it without reflection. To take a mark on your right hand means that you know its not true, but you go through the motions because its what you must do to survive. If you don’t, you will be unable to participate in the economy and will likely starve to death or be homeless.

And it maketh all, the small, and the great, and the rich, and the poor, and the freemen, and the servants, that it may give to them a mark upon their right hand or upon their foreheads, and that no one may be able to buy, or to sell, except he who is having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is the wisdom! He who is having the understanding, let him count the number of the beast, for the number of a man it is, and its number [is] 666. Revelation 13:16-18

Consider for a moment living in a communist nation. Maybe you believe that communism is great and you buy into it fully. People outside your totalitarian regime can clearly see it is no good, but you have been fooled by it. Maybe you know communism is bad, but what are you going to do? You’ll be kicked out of your job, arrested, or worse for voicing your opinion on this, so you follow orders and carry your papers. The catch is that in both cases, the dictator orders that you can not make the claim that anyone is higher than he is, including God. Have we seem such a thing in scripture before? Yes we have.

If you want to understand the book of Revelation, you must understand the book of Daniel. You seriously can not have one without the other. We see in Daniel, chapter 3, king Nebuchadnezzar makes an image of himself made of gold. It’s huge, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide; right in Babylon. That’s 27 meters tall by almost 3 meters wide. He then orders everyone to worship the image, or statue, of himself.

Many pagans and even most news do. Keep in mind this is before Christ. In that era, if you have beliefs which are not politically correct for the area, nobody will do business with you.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse to worship the statue and instead worship God. They are thrown into a massive furnace. When they are saved by a being (presumably Jesus logging in before his actual birth) walking in the furnace. The King and his people who hated Jews for their practices saw that the God of Abraham was real.

Then three chapters later we see a similar occurrence with Daniel being thrown into a den of lions for similar transgressions against the state. Now modern day nations have similar practices, and they all have one thing in common. Totalitarian rule, mostly communist style economy. In some places, which may or may not already be identified as a “great red dragon”, you are literally scored on your politically correct behavior and can loose your job or be banned from public services if your score drops. Stating that God is bigger and more important than the government can cause you to not be able to buy or sell.

True Christian churches are heavily persecuted there and in other places. You can either buy into these idiotic ideas and go on happily rejecting Christ as you live you our life, or act like under your government you and simply deny Christ with your words and deeds. Taking a mark on your forehead or your right hand. Belief or works. Both methods of rejecting Christ will lead to the same place.
